Macha tea

Matcha is a fine powder made from dried green tea leaves. The name itself comes from Japanese, 抹茶 (ma cha), and literally means "ground tea." The Japanese themselves have long loved it and use it in their traditional tea ceremony.

Today, matcha is not only drunk but also eaten—whether in cake, matcha chocolate, or ice cream. With its delicately sweet to refreshingly tart flavor, the powder is convincing both solo and in a group. Sweet, creamy, light. Many things harmonize with matcha tea.

The umami flavor in matcha tea is subtle but unmistakable, giving each sip a rich, rounded taste that lingers on the palate.
